My dear old Enterprise 450 just got a new debian install (i just got this old monster) and i have a Raptor GFX-8P video card

Now at default x.org decided max res is 640x480@8bit now this was no cool so did som research and installed glint driver and rebooted. now i have 800x600@24bit wich is an improvment, but i should be able to run at 1280x1024@24bit. My /etc/X11/Xorg.conf is non existing end the -configure commands puts my xorg file in the /root/ directory:s

I would give a Forum hug to the person(s) who are able to help me get my xfce wm to display in glorius 1280x1024@24bit :)

I have successfully installed Debian on a Sparc Ultra5, 270MHz SparcIIi CPU, 384MB RAM, 40GB HD. However, once Debian tries to load Gnome (right before the login screen) the screen goes blank, and so the machine becomes unusable. I booted of the NetInstall CD, into rescue mode, and executed a shell, but apparently there is currently a problem when running nano from a live CD, so I can not edit the xorg.conf file when I boot the live CD. So, I would like to just boot the install into single user mode, but I dont know how.

I typed set-defaults, auto-boot to false, boot-device to disk.

I just installed Lenny on my new from Sun T1000 UltraSPARC machine. All went really well, except now when I boot the server, it gets stuck at:

It won't boot into Debian until I login to the console and press ENTER. Once I do that it works just fine. Does anyone have any clues as to how I can overcome this in case the machine is ever accidentally powered off and I'm not around to login to the console?
