Hi, as Squeeze is now stable, I've downloaded the CD image with KDE and it installed very well on my five year old HP notebook. I'm impressed how well everything works.

I am using KDE on Debian Lenny and are trying to add files to the webserver folder at /var/www but when I go to load the files I get the message that I dont have permission. I am a newbie are learning, thanks for any help that is offered.

There were several updates to testing that went through yesterday, most of them related to qt4. This morning, nothing starts. KDM works fine but once I log into my KDE session, there is no desktop, no plasma, ALMOST nothing launches. The only thing I get is the iceweasel and pidgin that I had open from the previous session.

Hmmm... iceweasel and pidgin... both GTK apps if I am not mistaken.

The 8 copies of dolphin I had open? Won't launch.
Plasma ANYTHING? Won't launch.
I notice if I use my hotkey for KMail or the one for Kate or the one for the KDE System Monitor, the windows for them actually do flash on screen briefly but crash instantly before the window gets any of the widgets painted on.

Having a problem with Debian Lenny (KDE). When i start some software (digikam, amarok, ...) it hangs on starting and appears only after some minutes of waiting. Nor CPU, nor RAM doesn't look to be overloaded at that time and nothing suspicious in the Konsole, when i try to start the program from there. Anyone can help me to solve this problem? Thanks!
