X Window System

Hello to all of You,
i recently completed a standard debian installation with nice KDE GUI, everthings fine.
But i'd like to have an option, say in the grub menu, to let me choose to boot the computer in gui mode(as it is now)or in just plain text mode, no GUI.
i think i must be easy adding a few lines to the /boot/grub/menu.lst. i tried fiddling with runlevels, but did not succeed.
I do NOT want the sinlge user mode, but instead all of the "normal" gui mode and services, but just without gui.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a menu entry?

Dirk

Im using orbeon xforms builder to create my xforms.

im new to xforms.

When i create xforms using the builder im getting access to those xforms through an url like localhost:8080/orbeon/appname/projectname/new

which i guess is a xhtml file.

to access the .xforms file what might be the path?

can anyone help me please.

Also i need to know how to expose the xforms in orbeon as webservices.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure where to post this as there are only topics for KDE and Gnome. I am using Joes Window Manager and all I get is the grey screen like in the wiki how post:

My Acer 5810T laptop has a problem that prevents me from using it.

When I turn on my computer, it goes through the typical boot process and then halts on the KDE4 splash screen.
When it gets there, the keyboard is frozen. Nothing works except the cd eject switch, and the power off switch.
This happens everytime that I boot up my computer.

There is no numlock light or capslock light.
I cannot shift to a virtual terminal using control-alt F1.
No number or letter keys work at all.
The snaptic mouse pad does not move the cursor

When I boot up in the recovery mode which is command-line interface only, the keyboard works fine.

This started after I tried to upgrade kDE4. I still had sid in my sources.list file, and I may be missing some packages.
