AnnouncementsWe have a new FAQ system in place. You can access the FAQ directly, directly ask/answer a FAQ, or submit a FAQ to be answered by an "expert". It is that last option that we're interested and will probably get the most use. We need "FAQ experts"! These are the people who will answer the submitted FAQs. These FAQ experts are just regular users who will have moderation powers over the FAQ. FAQ experts will be able to add, answer, delete, edit, and otherwise have power over the FAQ subsystem. Want to take a crack at helping out someone by answering a common problem? Then why not become a "FAQ expert" -- all you need is some time and some general GNU/Linux knowledge. People this is a great forum. It recently got refurbished, therefore not so many posts. However the Old Site link is full of gold, and guys(and girls?) who frequent the forum will provide you with useful advice in majority of cases. Debian was the first Linux distro I've used (good old Woody) and through this period of couple of years, with the help of this site, I've managed to get from that old tar -xzvf thing to installing Linux on the most modern notebook platform. Well, thats all. IntnsRed, of course you can remove this if it feels like a bad advert (along with some geeky stupidities from the Political Economy forum ;-)) |
