I'm in the process of working on a new version of the site using a newer version of Drupal (the free software that powers the site).

One goal is to reduce the ability of spammers to post their rubbish, but what I was wondering is what features/ideas/Drupal modules that others think might be useful. Comments? Ideas?

This site was founded to support Debian users. The site is geared mostly towards new and/or "average" Debian users. Debian is one of the more militant OS distributions focused on free software. Time and time again over the years, I've seen Debian's strict attitude towards free software be proven correct.

Quite a few people have complained about "spam" on the front page from IBM's Developer Works, posts about Ubuntu, and articles on other sites (e.g. the HowToForge or DebianAdmin.com, etc.).

Here are some clarifications on what I consider to be spam and not to be spam.

When I logged in today I had to agree to a policy saying not to be excessively annoying.

Who came up with that idea?? It always takes two to be annoying, folks.

I have checked it, saying I agree, but this is a very silly move by the administration. People have been hated for their colour, their religion and basically for everything others did not understand or did not want to put up with. Now people get banned for being annoying?!
