I have got a linux box on which I have mysql installed. It was working fine until last week when I got a kernel panic error. I rebooted it and since then it hangs after the POST test to "Loading Stage 1.5". Please help. Thanks

Hi, I installed debian Lenny on a thinkpad t43 and the power management wasn't working. And so I tried adding my user to the power group and that didn't do it. Then I looked in the /etc/dbus-1/system.d/hal.conf file and noticed that I needed to add myself to the powerdev group instead. So, if anyone has this problem, thats how you do it; "#adduser username powerdev" You should know that if you don't do this, and you close the lid and go to the movies or something, your laptop will burn.

A real newbeeeee. -> Worked as an Systemadministrator for the last 10 years, with Bill Gates on my back day in and day out, I thought that I would give Linux a try here in the "late houer" of life.
Installed the Debian v.5.0, worke fine, no hands on, just perfect install, - but then problems arise.
I want to inastall an antivirus program, as I have allways done as the first thing before anything else.
Found AVG, downloaded the Linux version, found a install pdf dokument way down in a very well hiden folder, -> but from here on everything is in Chinese "no understand nothing".
How the .... do I start? I know that I'm to write a comand in the directory, but witch directory? and what do I write?

remove package HPlip and install foo2zjs then use cups gui to install printer.
printer worked perfect after mod.
hplip seemed to conflict with cups ??
