OtherGreetings all!! Finally left Ubuntu (was a Alpha tester for the last 5 years--had a very bad experience with one of the developers about the Unity interface) & have moved to Linux Mint Debian Edition--I liked the rolling release idea & have wanted to move to main Debian for a couple of years now. Couple of questions.... 1. I would like to help with testing. Ideas on where I could get involved with Q & A? I was/am involved with Gnome-Shell for the last couple of years & know most of the stack..... Hello All, I did a Kernel upgrade and the network card no longer seem to work reliable or all. There was mention of rename device during the upgrade. Any ideas? eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:02:56:00:0b:9d eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:02:56:00:0b:9e Hi All, apt-get update failing.. below is the error message, 1.Out the box basic mice functions will work, great! Point and click I didn't even change xorg.conf. 2.Try: 3.Ah the tilt buttons...I have actually had this mouse since using Sarge, I can't believe that this is still not automgically setup and the user just picks what they want the buttons to do! How many millions of multibutton mice must be out there by now? Perhaps I'm missing something really simple but the following works for me. 4.The good news is that everything is now readily available it just needs some good ol' hacking, and it's very satisfying when it works. Hi all I have a Hp pavillion laptop which is a 64 bit machine but when I try to install debian etch 64bit or 32bit on this machine it boots initially from cdrom and then fails to recognize the cdrom...... I have tried all the possibilities which were posted by friends on the network. but could not install debian where as ubutnu 32 bit and 64 bit are detecting and getting installed in the same machine... can any body tell me why I am unable to install debian on my machine? is there any way to install debian on my machine..... |
