I have a sony vaio vpcec2s1e laptop which I cannot make it work the sound card in debian testing (wheezy fresh install).

I have used ubuntu (10.x, the last one from www.ubuntu.org), and it works, but the problem is that I cannot repeat the same configuration in my debian (I don't know why or how).

I have run the alsahelp.sh script from www.alsa-project.org for both systems, and I hope someone can help me with this.

Ubuntu alsahelp.sh script ouput
Ubuntu script output

Debian alsahelp.sh script output
Debian script output

Recently I switched to Debian squeeze and got my epson CX5600 working by installing the following packages
from Avasys Corporation

- iscan_2.26.2-1.ltdl7_i386.deb
- iscan-plugin-cx4400_2.1.0-1_i386.deb

I use the parallel port to control devices and in order to do that I use libieee1284
which depends on parport module loaded.

When I try to send instructions to the /dev/parport0 I just got the following error

Quote:
The port does not support raw mode: 2542

Then after goggling I found if I remove the lp module from kernel it would work,
It did, But the CX5600 stop working . So, If I got back the lp module the CX5600 works fine
not the parport and vice verse.

Is there a way I got both modules loaded without conflicts?

Hi!
I beg your pardon for the bad English, it is not my native language

Customize the sound to the rarity laptop sony pcg-c1mv/m.
Sound works, but with poor quality, low bitrate.
My System: Debian 6.0.1 (tried on Debian 5.0.8).
Sound Card: ALi M5451 PCI AC-Link Controller Audio Device.
Sound like on a cassette player with a shrunken battery, with the noise and crackle.
The system is clean, just the console. X is not staged. ALSA version 1.0.21.
Tried on players MOC 2.5.0-alpha4 and mpg123 (1.12.1-3) and cmus.
File: mp3 320 kbit / s 44100 Hz Stereo.
CPU utilization does not exceed 25%, employing the entire system memory 16 MB.
Tried to listen to a usb flash (vfat) and the root partition (ext3).
Tried with headphones and built-in speakers.

Hey, I'm having some trouble getting right click functioning with Debian 6 although the touchscreen itself is working fine I cant seem to get longtouch_action to work. I need this to work to prevent Windows being used on some projects after fighting hard to get our company to start trusting in Tux, shame to see the hard work go to waste.

I'm using the evtouch driver but have also tried the elographics driver when connected via serial connection and also I changed longtouch to longtouched in my xorg config to see if that would help. I can give any information you require.

I've just switched from Fedora, and now running Debian Squeeze (stable) on a Toshiba Satellite A505. So far, the only issue I can't seem to fix is sound being output through HDMI.
