Debian KDEI've attempted to switch from windows to debian several times over the last few years, and always met some major roadblocks that made me go right back again out of frustration. I took a class in Linux a few years ago based on Debian, so would prefer to stay in this space. I may try a Kubuntu install if I can't straiten things out I recently (5 days ago) did a fresh net install of debian 5.0.6 on a blank box, then installed KDE and VLC media player using Synaptic package manager. Everything worked really great for a few days. I was even able to set up bittorrents using Transmission with my dd-wrt with uPNP, which was much easier than manual port forwarding in windows xp. My external usb hardrives (ntfs) all automatically opened a konqueror window, so automounting worked great. El Jueves 07 Febrero 2008 10:16:36 BasaBuru escribió: I'm try again. I'm uninstall all kde3 packets, purge configs, and then install aptitude -t experimental install kde4 And the problem same........ how i make bad??? Can't install kde4 from experimental with kde4 metapacket yet?? thanks BasaBuru Hi all,i was trying to update the 4.0 packages to 4.0.1 but a lot of errors occurred.First of all the packages kdebase-workspace are not ported to the 4.0.1 version so a lot of thing will not install. Also plasma-exstragear is still 4.0 so do a lot of application packages. When is going to be available the CD with Debian and KDE 4.0 that is announced in the web since almost a month?Regards. I've installed, required by dependencies, the kde-icons-oxygen packet in one But I can't see some Oxygen icons, i.e. trash I run KDE 3.5.8. Regards, -- . |
